Jordan Ewing, Ph.D. student at Michigan Tech, received the Lemke Scholar award
Jordan Ewing (Ph.D. student in Computational Science and Engineering at Michigan Tech), research student in an ARC project led by Prof. Thomas Oommen:
"… received the Lemke Scholar award at the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Association of Environmental & Engineering Geology in Asheville, North Carolina, in September 2019. The Lemke Scholar award is given to student first authors based on the submitted research abstract. Jordan submitted his abstract titled “Terrain Strength Characterization Using Remote Sensing” to the “Drones for Geologic Applications” section. Of the roughly 500 attendees, all the students who submitted abstracts are evaluated based on their abstract for the Lemke Scholar award. The awards committee identifies 4-5 students each year as the Lemke Scholars. This award comes with a certificate and $300 cash."
