Maani Ghaffari is an Assistant Professor in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and core faculty in the Robotics Institute. He is a leading researcher at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and machine learning, focusing on developing robotics and autonomous systems that operate in unstructured, dynamic, and uncertain environments. Recent work has focused on developing learning-aided registration methods, invariant state estimation, and semantic mapping.
