Alba Yerro-Colom

Dr. Alba Yerro-Colom is an Assistant Professor of geotechnical engineering at Virginia Tech in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Her primary research is on the numerical modeling of geomaterials involving large deformations and soil-structure-water interaction problems. Dr. Yerro-Colom has broad experience with advanced numerical models and is a founding member and software developer of the Anura3D MPM Research Community. Her most important contributions include proposing multiple-phase formulations to simulate the behavior of partially saturated soils and internal erosion processes. She has previous experience modeling tire-soil interaction using Material Point Methods.
