Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Dr. Wei Lu is Professor in ME Department at U-M, and Director of Advanced Battery Coalition for Drivetrains. He uses multi-scale and multi-physics modeling to address problems related to materials and energy, such as electrochemical-mechanical-thermal modeling of batteries. He has over 170 peer-reviewed journal publications and gave over 180 presentations and invited talks in international conferences, universities and national labs including Harvard, MIT, Stanford and at other institutions worldwide. His awards include Robert M. Caddell Memorial Research Achievement Award, NSF CAREER award, ASME Robert J. McGrattan Award, Faculty Recognition Award, Elected ASME Fellow, Department Achievement Award, Distinguished Professor Award, ASME Gustus L Larson Memorial Award, Ted Kennedy Family Faculty Team Excellence Award, invited to National Academies Keck Futures Initiative Conference.
