Evgueni Filipov
Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Dr. Evgueni Filipov is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at U-M, where he directs the Deployable and Reconfigurable Structures Lab (DRSL). His research interests lie in the mechanics of thin folded sheets and deployable structural systems. He is exploring how the principles of origami can create a variety of engineering systems that deploy, reconfigure and adapt for functionality and improved performance. He has expertise in developing simplified and FE models for complex mechanics of origami. Dr. Filipov also has research experience with parametric design of tubular origami systems and evaluation of these structures for different functional applications.
