Diran Apelian
Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering
Dr. Apelian is a Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at UC Irvine, where he is associate director of IDMI and director of the Advanced Casting Research Center (http://acrc.manucturing.uci.edu), an industrial consortium of more than 40 companies focused on advanced metal processing. Apelian is a world-leader in metal processing, with expertise in lightweight aluminum alloys. He is a Fellow of TMS, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
