CAMBAS

This page provides you with the information required to download and run CAMBAS, a software developed to demonstrate the system decomposition modeling technique and also to implement the Model Deduction Algorithms developed in our Lab. CAMBAS uses expandable bond graph models (templates) of components stored in libraries, which the design engineer selects to build a 'word bond graph like' representation of the system. CAMBAS then automatically assembles the global bond graph of the system. This system bond graph is processed by the deduction search algorithms to automatically generate the Proper Model.

System Requirements

  • Sun workstation (preferably a SPARC 10/20)
  • SunOS Operating System
  • Window Manager
  • 24 MB of RAM
  • 6 MB of disk space

Download and Test

The first step is to download the CAMBAS archive on your machine. After you have downloaded the archive, a file called cambas.tar.Z, will be created on your disk. This is a compressed archive which first you have to uncompress using the following command:

%uncompress cambas.tar.Z

Then you have to extract the software files from the archive by executing the command:
%tar xvf cambas.tar
This will create a directory called CAMBAS on the same directory that the cambas.tar file is located. Now change directory to CAMBAS and you are ready to enter the CAMBAS world. You can run the software simply by:

%cambas &
